Frederick artist Billi French presents “Be Kind, Rewind” her latest collection of acrylic paintings celebrating memories from her youth in the 90s, when Blockbuster, Jinko Jeans, Pogs, flip phones, Dodgeball, and Instant Messenger ruled her world. “As each year moves forward, the world seems to get a little more complicated so lately I’ve been craving simpler times” says French, a proud Millennial. “Be Kind, Rewind” takes viewers back to those wonderful and strange reminders of a turn-of-the-century childhood in hope of generating a little happiness to fellow millennials, many of whom are now experiencing their mid-life crisis and need some joyful nostalgia.
